The paper deals with the problem of rather poor language skills of students, and proposes some ways of its solution. The article also provides a historical digression to compare this situation in relation to the pre-revolutionary time and today. The authors have developed and presented methods and techniques of learning of the Greek terminological elements in the Latin medical terminology in the situation when students have not got any knowledge of classical languages.
